Yegezu Lejoch Hotel – A Legacy of Service, A Home of Hospitality

Yegezu Lejoch Hotel is more than a place to stay; it is the continuation of a proud family story that spans generations. The story begins with Ato Bekele Kassa, the first in the family to enter the hotel business by opening a small hotel in Dire Dawa named “Kana Ze Gelilia Hotel.” He was the uncle of Ato Yegezu and the one who took him in, shaping the early roots of the family’s journey. Ato Yegezu Yirdaw later grew into a devoted father and visionary entrepreneur who built one of Dire Dawa’s most trusted mill houses, serving the community for many years with integrity and dedication.

Later on, Ato Yegezu expanded his entrepreneurial journey by entering the hospitality sector for the first time with the establishment of Tsehay Hotel, named after his wife. This became a significant milestone for the family and strengthened their commitment to serving the people of Dire Dawa.

As the city’s lifestyle evolved, the family expanded its services by opening Bridge Café, which quickly became one of Dire Dawa’s most beloved social and relaxation spaces. For many years, it was a place where friendships were formed, memories were shared, and the community came together.

Building on this strong foundation — now in its third generation, led by Ato Yegezu’s six children — the family legacy has evolved into a modern hospitality destination with the creation of Yegezu Lejoch Hotel, which translates to “Yegezu Children’s Hotel.” This seven-story establishment, named in honor of Ato Yegezu, symbolizes the enduring strength and unity of the family.
